Banker Bag

Banker Bag

The Banker Bag has its origins in the late 1970s, originally developed by American textile company Warden Brooks in New Canaan, Connecticut as a simple, preppy gym bag that would serve as an affordable yet emblematic status symbol. The banker duffle became a subtle indicator of being gainfully employed in the Finance sector and is often given to new analysts on their first day.

During the boom years of the 1980s and 1990s, the bag was a symbol of institutional success, good education, and even became a part of dating culture. It is often associated with the “Greed Is Good” era and for that reason, fashionable takes on the silhouette tend to play on the bag’s iconic status with a bit of irony and homage.

We have chosen a unique, subdued color palette that in combination with our new HG monogram projects the idea of quiet luxury.
